Sea Crest Fisheries is looking for individuals to fill their position of Seafood Processor (Seafood Preparer – Fish and Seafood Processing)

Locations: Saulnierville and Comeauville, NS
Salary: $17.50/hour

Job requirements:

Languages: No specific language is required for the position

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 1 year of experience in a Physical Labor job is a requirement

Tasks:

Inspect lobster meat for any any deviances
Place product in appropriate packaging
Extract meat from shell, using extraction machine and/or handheld picks
Master and palletize final product
Cut sections according to specifications and place in container for weighing
Disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products
Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products
Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
Record production information such as quantity, weight, date and type of products packaged.
Butcher/dismantle incoming product
Clean product using handheld device
Perform grading operations product using provided equipment
Weigh and pack product as per customer specification
Transport product into freezer
